AirQuest is a community health initiative working to improve public understanding of the health impacts of air pollution while supporting practical interventions to reduce exposure among vulnerable populations.
The initiative will begin with the AirQuest Card Game, an educational card game introducing primary and middle school students to the science of air pollution through interactive gameplay. Alongside this, AirQuest will run the AirQuest School Survey, assessing students' awareness of air pollution, respiratory health, and indoor air quality, and evaluating changes in wellbeing following planned interventions. Drawing on these findings, AirQuest will launch the Second Wind Fundraiser, a community fundraising campaign to support the purchase of portable air purifiers for schools and community organisations in high pollution areas. Using the funds raised, AirQuest will carry out Room to Breathe, coordinating the distribution and installation of these purifiers. The initiative will also include a case study examining the relationship between crop residue burning, agricultural livelihoods, and respiratory health, and will conclude with a research paper evaluating the relationship between improved indoor air quality and student wellbeing.
